VETIGEL® Gives: Bunnie's Success Story
Posted by Nicolas Arreste on
From Dr. Woyma, VBSPCA Medical Director:
Bunnie is a nine month old Labrador retriever mix who was found as a stray. She was brought to animal control where they found she was unable to use her back left leg.
Radiographs revealed that she had a complex fracture of her leg which was causing her severe pain. Due to the nature of the break, it was determined that she would need the leg amputated. However, animal control didn’t have the resources to provide this care to Bunnie and they began to search for someone to help Bunnie.
Thanks to the Vetigel Gives program, Bunnie was able to be transferred to the Virginia Beach SPCA, where she was able to get her surgery promptly and begin rehabilitation as a three legged dog!
Bunnie is extremely sweet and has quickly become a staff favorite as she tries her hardest to get cuddles and treats from everyone she meets. Being three legged has not slowed her down at all and she enthusiastically plays outside with toys and friends. Once she’s fully rehabilitated, Bunnie will be able to find her forever home. Bunnie and all her friends at the VBSPCA are so grateful to the VETIGEL® Gives program for giving her the chance at a normal life!
